It seems like every time I go on Netflix, a new “Netflix Original Series” is headlining. It’s overwhelming- how will I ever have time to watch them all? If you are in the need of a good show or film to watch now that exams are dying down, here are my top 5 Netflix recommendations:

  1. Girlboss- This comedy series tells the story of a young female who started selling vintage clothes on eBay before launching her own site, “Nasty Gal.” The main character is spunky, spontaneous, hilarious, and witty. Its binge-worthy for sure.

2. The Fundamentals of Caring- This movie features Paul Rudd and Selena Gomez. It tells the story of a man applying for a job taking care of a teenager with muscular dystrophy. The boy has been stuck in a house all of his life due to his condition, and the caretaker decides to take him to see parts of the U.S. he has always wanted to see. They pick up two other people along the way, the movie tells the story of the road trip. It is one of those movies that makes you laugh and cry, and when you are finished watching it, you have a smile on your face and appreciate all you have been blessed with.

3. The People vs. OJ Simpson- This documentary series tells the complete story of OJ Simpson and his trial for murder. I was too young to understand exactly what happened or to know just how invasive the trial was in society at the time, but this documentary helps clear everything up in a very digestible way. It’s well made and the actors/actresses do a phenomenal job.

4. 13 Reasons Why- I know, this series has gotten A LOT of backlash. But, it’s raising very important and relevant questions in society. I think everyone should at least watch it so they can form their own opinions and join the conversation. It also gives adults a genuine look at what happens in high school today.

5. Chef’s Table- If you didn’t think cooking was an art form, you will after this series. Chef’s Table showcases the secrets, tactics, and processes of chef’s from around the world. It is calming and enticing- a show any audience would enjoy.
